If 2009 was a great year for gaming, 2010 is shaping up to be absolutely awe-inspiring. The first half alone is enough to make any dedicated gamer cry before requesting overtime at work.
I’m in no position to map out my purchases for the entire year. Not only due to the sheer volume of interesting releases, but also because of ambiguous release dates and game yet-to-be-announced. Instead, here are the games I’m looking forward to for Quarter 1 of 2010 (Jan – Mar).
Nintendo DS
Sands of Destruction / Sega / Jan 10
Glory of Heracles / Nintendo / Jan 18
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey / Atlus / Mar 9
Pokemon SoulSilver Version / Nintendo / Mar 14
Sony PSP
Lunar: Silver Star Harmony / XSEED / Jan 12
Microsoft Xbox 360
Darksiders / THQ / Jan 5
BioShock 2 / 2K Games / Feb 9
Nintendo Wii
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars / Capcom / Jan 26
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle / Ubisoft / Jan 26
Red Steel 2 / Ubisoft / Feb 16
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon / XSEED / Mar 16
Sin and Punishment 2 / Nintendo / Mar 31
Sony PS3
White Knight Chronicles (International Edition) / Sony Computer Entertainment / Feb 2
Heavy Rain / Sony Computer Entertainment / Feb 16
Final Fantasy XIII / Square Enix / Mar 9
Yakuza 3 / Sega / Mar 31
I probably won’t be purchasing all of these games on release day. I’m going to try to be a bit more fiscally responsible this year, but thankfully, video game prices have been dropping much quicker lately, and sales are more frequent, so I don’t think this will be too difficult.
where is god of war 3?
God of War III has no set release date (although it’s anticipated to release in March), and I’m not really looking forward to it. God War of games are decent, but kind of meat-headed.
Pretty good list you got there
Some of these games are the same that I wish to get and some to import (like Lunar since I live in Australia).
hmmmm i want White Knight Chronicles. have you gotten it yet craig?
Not yet, no. The Japanese press wasn’t too hot on it, and it seems neither is the American press. I’m still interested, but I think I’ll wait for a price drop.
